Description
The Marchese d’Azeglio Barolo DOCG cru MERIAME wine has a medium intensity ruby-red colour with striking garnet reflections.
It is made in the sunny vineyards, facing south-west in the heart of the Serralunga d’Alba district and precisely in the Meriame town, from which it takes the name of the CRU.
The shallow soil, rich in clay and limestone, along with a never extreme microclimate, allows an optimal ripening of the bunches, giving the wine a high sugar content.
The refinement lasts 30 months in French oak barrels and the refinement in the bottle lasts at least one year. The result is a pleasantly fruity red with striking floral sensations and a persistent, structured and enveloping taste, especially in the final aftertaste.
